From the owner
Hello there!
I’m Sarah, and am the proud new owner of The Greenhouse. I am a yoga and meditation teacher, spiritual guide, and writer based here in PV. I’ve been sharing practices within this lovely community for more than a decade. Through my teachings and guidance, I hope to inspire others to overcome self-imposed limitations, helping them to uncover their individual truths and (re)discover their most authentic selves.
In my teachings, I blend ancient wisdom with modern science while pulling from the traditions of yoga, spiritual healing, positive psychology, somatics, and mindfulness.
In my classes, I seek to promote a welcoming and safe environment that realigns others with the natural gifts within—vitality, strength, joy, and intuitive intelligence. I believe a consistent practice offers the practitioner a pathway back to his or her own divine, radiant nature.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Spirituality and Mind Body Practice from Columbia University in New York. I received my yoga teacher training certifications through Yoga Mittra in Manhattan Beach and Laughing Lotus in New York City and have completed multiple advanced trainings in trauma-informed yoga, yoga for post traumatic stress, Ayurveda, and Mindfulness Based Strengths-Practice (MBSP). I am also an instructor at Columbia University, School of Professional Studies, where I teach courses on spiritual entrepreneurship and venture creation.
I am so honored and thrilled to be back in community with you all!
From the founder
Though born and raised in Chicago, I have been enjoying the sunshine in the South Bay of Los Angeles since 2004. Nine years ago I put down roots in Lunada Bay with my husband, daughter, and two sons, and this community quickly became Home. In 2020, I opened the Greenhouse with the goal of creating a space where we can support each other in growing in wellness and joy.
I am an author and spiritual counselor with a focus on the intersection between spirituality and mental health. For several years, I taught contemplative writing at Loyola Marymount University where I received my masters in Theology and Spiritual Direction with specialized study in Jungian Psychology. I have a certificate in Mindfulness and Meditation from the Greater Good Science Center of UC Berkeley and in Holistic and Integrative Wellness from LMU. I love being a student of life, finding inspiration in films, books, music, nature, and in the stories of all those I meet. One of the greatest joys of my life is engaging in self-discovery and self-care together at the Greenhouse. Thank you for being a part of our growing community.
With love,
Christie
