Perspectives from a PA, death doula, and breath work facilitator whose work bridges clinical understanding and embodied presence. She created Where Science Meets the Sacred, a talk and workshop exploring the difference between knowledge — what we're told about the body — and knowing — what we feel to be true within it. Drawing on the physiology of the vagus nerve and the autonomic nervous system, she shows how breath becomes the bridge between the two: a way of regulating fear emotions to let meaning, clarity, and peace back in. Her work invites people to trust the body's own intelligence, especially in moments of fear, transition, and transformation.

About Alex
As a Physician’s Assistant, breath-work facilitator, and death doula — Alex Vaughn lives in the space between science and the sacred. Two decades in healthcare taught her the body's language; somatic practice taught her to listen. She holds space in moments of uncertainty, transition, and transformation, trusting that breath is the anchor through it all.
Her approach is rooted in clinical rigor and spiritual insight. Her workshop weaves together nervous system science, physiology, breathwork techniques, and space for spiritual exploration— trusting that the body's wisdom comes to life with intentional breath.
