An Afternoon of Vocal Embodiment (w/ tea & snacks):
There is a quiet homecoming that happens when we spend extended time with our voice. We
often discover places that have been waiting to be expressed, sometimes for decades.
When we know our voice needs more expression than we've given it, it can feel scary being
heard, even by our own ears. Using somatic practices, vocal meditations and toning, we'll
explore and play inside of the landscape that your voice can cultivate. By the end of this
experience, you will connect with a new way of relating with your voice and see how every
sound we make, when given loving attention and playful curiosity, leads us more deeply into
ourselves.
Jill is an exceptional guide for those seeking to befriend their voice. She holds a non-
judgmental playful space where creativity meets intention, and there is room for every feeling
to be present. As a somatic singing teacher and Somatic Experiencing Practioner, she weaves
her understandings of voice and the nervous system into a healing art form.
Who it’s for:

About Jill
My teaching and guidance is rooted through my own path of healing through singing and healing trauma in my body/nervous system. Using my voice as a tool of healing; body/mind/spirit and sharing these gifts with others is part of why I am here on this planet. I have known both complete freedom in speaking and singing, and complete stuckness and constriction. I have transformed deep pain and dysregulation in my body through singing and sounding and through healing therapies like somatic experiencing. It’s an ongoing practice as I continue to grow, heal and deepen as a human in this body.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and in 2014 I completed a functional voice training that is process oriented, holistically based, and scientifically grounded called Somatic Voicework™, The LoVetri Method. Through this holistic approach, artistry and expression meets vocal health and nervous system regulation. Blending voice work, music and somatic experiencing is the alchemy that this world needs.
In 2008 I received my BFA from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, specializing in jazz and improvisation, and then went on to receive my MM in Vocal Performance at Longy School of Music of Bard, specializing in classical voice and opera. Before I studied in New York, I sang and studied the devotional vocal music of North India which gave me a unique understanding of the aliveness, beauty, and emotion inherent in scales and melodies.
